What are the Effects of Drug Abuse?Drug abuse is a habit of taking illegal drugs and abusing the use of them. Drugs could be taken in a mature manner, or abused for their own advantage. About 119 million people take prescription drugs, and that's not including the people who use illegal drugs. Overdose deaths have tripled since the 1990's. People who take prescribed drugs can also become addicted to them. They can become addicted by taking their medication irresponsibly or the doctor could have given them the wrong dosage. There are many different reasons as to why people can become addicted to drugs but one of the most important parts is what happens when you are addicted. When you are addicted you want the drug. Wanting the drug makes you consume the drug. When the drugs are consumed in large quantities they can cause the brain and the body to overdose. Overdoses can be too much on the body and can even lead to death.

Drug Types that are AbusedDrugs can be classified by different categories including deppressants like alcohol,stimulants like methamphetamine, hallucinogens like cocaine, narcotics like heroin, and synthetic compounds like ecstasy.

Teens and DrugsDuring school, teens usually go to the restroom to do drugs. Everyday teens are caught doing drugs in the restrooms. About 81% of teens have had the oppertunity to do drugs but only 42.5% of teens have actually ended up doing them.
